Patchway is the first judo club in South Gloucestershire and Bristol County to achieve the British Judo Silver Club Mark award, & the 2nd in the whole of the Western area!

Sunday 15th June - Western Area Open - Gloucester Leisure Centre

From a team of 9 we took 1 Gold, 2 Silvers and 4 Bronzes!

As usual in this open event, the standard was high, in the U16 category there were World Class start badges everywhere you turned!

This didn't deter our players, Myles was unlucky and lost his first two fights, which meant he was out, Dominic in the Under 16's had it even harder as he was given a score by a line judge that wasn't seen by the referee and went on to lose in golden score.

With hard groups Tom won the bronze medal in his, Sam won the bronze in his, being drawn againt the gold medallist in the pool, who was the only player he lost to! David took the bronze he had a close fight with a world class start player.

For the girls, a full house - all of them winning medals, Natasha won the Gold, beating a black belt, who'd fought in the Senior comeptition earlier, & Rebecca the silver, still nursing her bad ankle, in their group. Lucy won bronze and little Mols not letting the girls down with a silver, fighting up a weight group again (where are all the u40kg girls?)
